Description
Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is a Second Growth of 1855 whose vineyards straddle the border between Pauillac and Saint-Julien. A historically generous share of Merlot gives this estate its famous suppleness and charm.
The vintage 1983. 1983 was a warm, successful year, especially in the Margaux appellation; the wines are now mature, harmonious and aromatic.
Black cherry, cassis and plum, violet and sweet spice, with cedar and graphite in the background. Velvety tannins, a seamless texture and a long, perfumed finish.
Service & pairing. Serve at 16–17 °C after a gentle decanting. Beautiful with roast duck, veal with morels, lamb noisettes or a mature Brie de Meaux.
