Description

Bin 707 is Penfolds’ flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, made in the same powerful style as Grange and aged in new American oak. It is made only in years when the fruit is good enough.

The vintage 1989. 1989 was a challenging, wet vintage in South Australia; the wine is now mature.

Cassis, blackberry, mint, cedar and mocha; full, firm and long, now with mature, savoury complexity.

Service & pairing. Serve at 17–18 °C in a large glass, decanted an hour or two ahead; older bottles gently, to leave the sediment behind. Pair with grilled steak, lamb or aged Cheddar.
