Description
The Grand Vin de Léoville du Marquis de Las Cases is a Second Growth of 1855 in Saint-Julien. Its walled Grand Clos borders Château Latour, and the estate’s uncompromising selection has long placed it among the very finest wines of the Médoc.
The vintage 2000. 2000, the millennium vintage, is one of the great Bordeaux years: ripe, powerful and balanced, with a long life ahead.
Classic and deep: cassis, black cherry, cedar and graphite, with a dense core and firm, noble tannins. It ages slowly into tobacco, truffle and a long, mineral finish.
Service & pairing. Serve at 17 °C, decanted. Superb with roast lamb, beef Wellington, pigeon or a mature Cantal.
