Description

Pavillon Rouge is the second wine of Château Margaux, made from the same vineyards and by the same team as the Grand Vin. Selection is rigorous and the blend usually carries a little more Merlot, so the wine opens earlier while keeping the estate’s unmistakable grace.

The vintage 1982. 1982 is the hot, ripe vintage that launched modern Bordeaux: opulent, generous wines that are now at a glorious peak of maturity.

Red and black fruit, violet and a touch of graphite on the nose; a supple, finely grained palate with fresh acidity and a polished, perfumed finish.

Service & pairing. Serve at 16–17 °C after a short decanting. Lovely with roast veal, duck breast, lamb cutlets or aged Comté.
