Description
Clos Saint-Jacques is a premier cru on the hillside above Gevrey-Chambertin, widely regarded as worthy of grand cru status. Domaine Armand Rousseau is its largest owner and its wine is often priced alongside the domaine’s grands crus.
The vintage 2008. 2008 is a fresh, classic vintage, saved by a sunny September, giving vibrant, precise wines.
Red cherry, raspberry and rose, with notes of spice, forest floor and stone; refined, vibrant and long, with fine-grained tannins.
Service & pairing. Serve at 15–16 °C in a wide Burgundy glass. Decant young bottles briefly; open mature ones an hour ahead and pour gently, leaving any sediment in the bottle. Lovely with roast duck, guinea fowl, veal kidneys or Brillat-Savarin.
