Description
Clos de la Roche is the largest and often most powerful grand cru of Morey-Saint-Denis, on limestone-rich soils. Domaine Armand Rousseau’s version brings the house’s trademark finesse to this sturdier terroir.
The vintage 2013. 2013 was a cool, late vintage with a small crop, giving fresh, finely etched, elegant wines.
Dark cherry, blackberry and plum, with earth, liquorice and a stony, savoury edge; firm, deep and long.
Service & pairing. Serve at 15–16 °C in a wide Burgundy glass. Decant young bottles briefly; open mature ones an hour ahead and pour gently, leaving any sediment in the bottle. Excellent with game, beef bourguignon, venison or a mature Époisses.
