Description
Charmes-Chambertin is a grand cru of Gevrey-Chambertin lying just below Chambertin itself. Domaine Armand Rousseau’s version is admired for its perfume, generosity and silkiness.
The vintage 2013. 2013 was a cool, late vintage with a small crop, giving fresh, finely etched, elegant wines.
Ripe red cherry, raspberry and violet with sweet spice and a gentle earthy note; round, supple and silky, with a long, perfumed finish.
Service & pairing. Serve at 15–16 °C in a wide Burgundy glass. Decant young bottles briefly; open mature ones an hour ahead and pour gently, leaving any sediment in the bottle. Lovely with roast duck, quail, veal fillet or a creamy Brie.
