Description
Domaine Armand Rousseau, in Gevrey-Chambertin, is the reference for the great Pinot Noirs of the Côte de Nuits. Chambertin-Clos de Bèze is one of the two summits of Gevrey’s grand crus, and Rousseau’s bottling is among the most prized wines in the world.
The vintage 2007. 2007 gave lighter, fragrant and early-charming red Burgundies.
Black cherry, wild strawberry and violet, then earth, spice and a hint of game. Silky yet powerful, with ripe, fine tannins, great depth and a long, mineral finish.
Service & pairing. Serve at 15–16 °C in a wide Burgundy glass. Decant young bottles briefly; open mature ones an hour ahead and pour gently, leaving any sediment in the bottle. Superb with roast pigeon, hare, beef with morels or a mature Époisses.
