Description
Aloxe-Corton lies at the foot of the hill of Corton, the only grand cru hill of the Côte de Beaune for red wine. Domaine Leroy’s biodynamic farming and low yields give its version unusual depth.
The vintage 2005. 2005 is one of the finest red Burgundy vintages of recent decades: ripe, concentrated and structured for long ageing.
Black cherry, redcurrant and spice with an earthy, iron-tinged minerality; structured, fresh and long.
Service & pairing. Serve at 15–16 °C in a wide Burgundy glass. Decant young bottles briefly; open mature ones an hour ahead and pour gently, leaving any sediment in the bottle. Pair with roast beef, lamb, game terrine or Comté.
