The Pasquero Elia family’s Paitin estate in Neive has bottled Barbaresco for generations. Sorì Paitin is its top parcel on the Serraboella hill.

The vintage 1989. 1989 is one of the great Piedmont vintages: structured, deep and long-lived.

Mature: dried cherry, rose, tar, leather and forest floor; fine and savoury.

Service & pairing. Serve at 17 °C in a tall Nebbiolo or Burgundy glass. Decant younger vintages for two hours or more; older ones gently, to separate the sediment. Pair with truffle, game or mature cheeses.
