Description
Château Palmer is a Third Growth of 1855 in the Margaux appellation whose quality has long placed it alongside far higher-ranked names. An unusually high proportion of Merlot alongside Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine its distinctive voluptuousness.
The vintage 2000. 2000, the millennium vintage, is one of the great Bordeaux years: ripe, powerful and balanced, with a long life ahead.
Plum, black cherry and blackberry, violet, sweet spice and a hint of truffle; a velvety, layered palate with fine tannins and a long, aromatic finish.
Service & pairing. Serve at 16–17 °C after decanting. Sublime with duck breast with cherries, roast lamb, porcini or beef with a red-wine reduction.
