Pian delle Vigne is the Antinori estate in Montalcino, named after its historic railway station. Its Brunello is 100% Sangiovese, aged at length before release.

The vintage 1996. 1996 was a cooler Tuscan vintage of freshness and elegance.

Cherry, plum, dried herbs, leather and spice; balanced, savoury and long.

Service & pairing. Serve at 17 °C in a tall Nebbiolo or Burgundy glass. Decant younger vintages for two hours or more; older ones gently, to separate the sediment. Pair with roast meats, mushroom dishes or pecorino.
