Description
Chambolle-Musigny is famed for the most perfumed, lace-like Pinot Noir of the Côte de Nuits. Domaine Leroy’s biodynamic farming and tiny yields give its village wine a concentration that many producers’ premiers crus never reach.
The vintage 2003. 2003, the year of the European heatwave, gave atypically rich, ripe and powerful red Burgundies.
Raspberry, red cherry, rose and violet, with spice and fine minerality; silky, pure and long.
Service & pairing. Serve at 15–16 °C in a wide Burgundy glass. Decant young bottles briefly; open mature ones an hour ahead and pour gently, leaving any sediment in the bottle. Elegant with quail, veal, salmon or a soft-rind cheese.
