Description

Domaine des Comtes Lafon is the most celebrated name in Meursault, farmed biodynamically under Dominique Lafon. Charmes is one of the great premiers crus of the village, giving a generous yet finely mineral Chardonnay.

The vintage 1999. 1999 was an abundant, ripe vintage for white Burgundy, giving generous, attractive wines.

Hazelnut, butter, ripe pear and lemon, with toasted notes and a stony, saline finish; rich and creamy but precise.

Service & pairing. Serve at 12–13 °C, not too cold, in a large white Burgundy glass, and let the wine open in the glass. Superb with lobster, sole meunière, poultry in cream sauce or Comté.
