Description
Old bottlings of The Macallan, distilled in the middle of the twentieth century, are among the most sought-after whiskies in the world. This bottle, with its hand-written label and red ribbon, belongs to that rare category.
Expect old-style Speyside character: sherry, dried fruit, rancio, beeswax, old leather and gentle peat smoke.
Service & pairing. Serve neat at room temperature in a tulip-shaped nosing glass; add a few drops of still water to open the aromas if you wish. Museum piece: keep upright, away from light, and check fill level and seal.
